Nowadays, raw materials are not merely expensive. They can be also scarce. 2,000 litres of water are required to water the cotton plants needed to produce cotton for a single T-shirt. And raw material cost makes up more than half of all costs in a spinning plant.

今年中国环保部又发布公告，禁止废旧纺织原料的进口，纺纱企业的成本压力进一步上升。

This year it is announced by Chinese Ministry of Environmental Protection that, waste textile raw material is forbidden to be imported, which further rising the cost pressure of local spinning enterprises.
